Frank Langrish

Castle Farm, Winchelsea

As a third-generation farmer and flockmaster, Frank and his family manage his flock of Romney and Romney Cross Ewes and Sussex Cattle on the salt marshes and surrounding countryside directly opposite The Ship.

The local marsh land provides a great natural environment for the sheep and cattle to roam freely and graze traditionally. Feeding on these natural grass lands for their entire lives gives the Romney lamb and Sussex Cattle their unique and distinctive flavours and delicate tastes which they have become globally famed for.

With a mission to rear truly free range chickens and a passion for exceptional welfare and traditional farming, Belinda Nash started Sutton Hoo Chicken over 20 years ago with her late husband Charles.

Sutton Hoo chickens are lovingly reared over 40 acres of meadows in the heart of the Suffolk countryside where they can roam freely on natural grassland and are free to peck, graze and engage in their natural behaviours.

The traditional breed used is a slower growing chicken; grown on average for 10 weeks and 25% longer than standard free range chickens. By rearing chickens for longer to naturally mature, with plenty of exercise and a natural, varied diet develops a truly delicious and unique flavour.
